Book of the Month: The Five Love Languages
Posted on
Each month, we showcase a user-friendly book with practical applications for common issues in marriage and relationships.
This month, we're reading The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman.
In Gary Chapman’s book The Five Love Languages, he posits that each person has a stronger preference in how they receive love – Acts of Service, Affection, Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, or Gifts.
Couples often struggle when they aren’t in sync with the other’s “love language.” But when they receive love in their dominant style, partners feel validated and appreciated or understood. When both partners are clear about the other’s love language, then committing to following through – even if it seems foreign – will bridge a gap.
